Boot Scoot Helps Sponsor Ponseti Races

I was happy to have Boot Scoot Bikes take part as a sponsor in this year's Ponseti Races. Dr. Ignacio Ponseti, who passed away this past Sunday, October 18 at the age of 95, developed a gentle and non-surgical method to treat club feet. This is especially important to me because my second son was born with club feet and now, at age three, he rides his Boot Scoot, he plays on a soccer team, and jumps on the trampoline. No one would ever know he was born with club feet and he will never have to endure painful surgeries or the pain associated with the scar tissue left by the surgeries. Dr. Ponseti will be greatly missed, but his legacy will live on as his method is spread throughout the world. If you'd like to find out more about him and his method, go to the Ponseti Website.

If You Like My Bikes, Maybe You'll Like These Too!

My mother-in-law is somehow connected to the man who invented these awesome bikes.

Sometimes there are places you may want to bike where you can't have your little one Boot Scooting around. Here is a great solution! I haven't ridden one myself, but I've heard from friends who have ridden them that they are awesome--really easy to ride and not tippy like you may think.

They are currently giving away one bike a week, so check them out!!

New: American Express and Shipping to Canada

I'm happy to say that Canadian customers can now order directly from our site! A $32 flat rate for Canadian shipping will be charged for USPS Priority International. Canadian customers may be responsible for import taxes because I cannot pay these up front and include them in the cost of shipping. However, in my past experience, these taxes have been minimal because you are not charged custom brokerage fees as you might be when using UPS.

The other big news is that Boot Scoot Bikes now accepts all major credit cards including American Express. So all you frequent fliers--get some miles by using your AmEx card to buy a Boot Scoot.

Have a great day!

Great Photo and Great Testimonial

I've already added this testimonial to the main testimonials page on the website, but the author sent me a fabulous photo I wanted to share the testimonial and photo here as well.

“Now for the great news -- My 3 1/2 year old and 5 1/2 year old with Down Syndrome who have been riding your bikes since early summer 2008 (7-8 months) both rode their real bikes without training wheels this weekend.  They can't wait to get out and ride this morning!" -Jim G. from Dallas, Texas

First bike in Denmark

I just got an email from a customer in Denmark with these adorable photos. I love the green jump suit, green helmet, and green bell. Isn't he cute!
I've also recently added a new page to the Boot Scoot Bikes website--a testimonials page. I've received emails from many happy parents (happy because they have happy Boot Scoot ridin' kids) and have been meaning to post these for a long time. Now there is a page dedicated just to testimonials. Be sure to check it out!

Pink Bikes Are On Their Way

Many of you have asked and it is finally happening. Our pink bikes are on their way! I estimate to have them in the online store by September 15th. It may take a little longer for retailers to begin carrying them, but if everything goes as planned, you should be able to purchase a Sunrise Pink Boot Scoot on or soon after September 15th. So get ready all you little princesses!

Made in China

I have been asked a couple of times where our bikes are made, so I wanted to clearly state that they are made in Zhejiang China.
